SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team looks to get back on track on Tuesday at Southern Utah after a tough weekend against New Mexico. Although the Utes held leads in all three games of the series, the team fell in extra innings in all three.
Utah has defeated Southern Utah twice this season in a doubleheader back on March 28.
"A road game on Tuesday is tough but we have to shake the weekend and play well tomorrow," head coach Bill Kinneberg said.
Utah dropped a close three game series against New Mexico this past weekend, falling in extra innings in three games.
"Overall, we played fairly well all weekend in every phase - pitching, defense and we swung the bats well at times," Kinneberg said. "We just didn't get that key pitch, key hit or key defensive play, and you have a chance to lose when that happens."
Southern Utah is coming off a four game sweep against IPFW. The Thunderbirds have won six of their last seven games.
