SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team begins the MWC Tournament, hosted by TCU, on Tuesday, May 19, against BYU. First pitch is at 3:00 p.m. (CT).
Jordan Whatcott will start on the mound for the Utes, facing BYU's Blake Torgerson.

The Utes finished third at the Mountain West Conference Tournament last season, going 3-2. The Utes went into it as the No. 5 seed, and they beat No. 4 BYU (9-3), No. 3 San Diego State (1- 0) and No. 6 UNLV (7-4). The two losses came at the hands of the top two seeds. Utah dropped an 8-2 decision to No. 2 New Mexico and a 6-3 loss to top-seeded TCU.
