FULLERTON, Calif. - The Utah baseball team has spent the last two days in California preparing for their NCAA Regional, which begins on Friday at 7:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. MT) against host Cal State Fullerton.
After flying out on Wednesday afternoon, the Utes held their first practice that afternoon at Mt. Sac Community College. Utah got their first glimpse of Cal State Fullerton's field on Thursday afternoon, holding an hour and a half practice before Fullerton hosted a pre-tournament banquet to welcome all of the teams.
"We were a little sluggish in practice yesterday, but we had a good practice on the field today," head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We will be ready to play tomorrow."
Jordan Whatcott (RHP, 5-2, 3.59 ERA) will start for Utah, facing Cal State Fullerton's Noe Ramirez (RHP, 7-1, 2.93 ERA)
