Four former Utes are currently in the middle of their minor league seasons.
Chris Shelton, Utah's most recent player to make it to the major leagues, has spent time with the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers during his career. He is currently with the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Shelton is batting .314 through 54 games with 18 doubles and seven home runs.
Ryan Khoury is in his second year with the Portland Sea Dogs of the Double-A Eastern League. He played several games with the Red Sox during spring training. Khoury is hitting .245 through 52 games with 16 doubles.
Stephen Fife, who is also in the Red Sox organization, has been solid in his four outings so far for the Greenville Drive of the Class A South Atlantic League after missing the early part of the season with a shoulder issue. He struck out seven in five no-hit innings against Lexington on June 5.
Jay Brossman has played eight games for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, Class A affiliate of the Angels. He has six hits, including three doubles. Brossman is currently on the seven day disabled list.
