Cron Continues to Earn Freshman All-America Honors

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Utah freshman catcher and designated hitter C.J. Cron continues to earn Freshman All-America honors, this time from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

Cron was selected as a second team catcher on the NCBWA's Pro-Line Freshman All-America team. He was also named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team this season in addition to being named the Freshman of the Year in the Mountain West Conference.

Cron hit .337 for the year and led the Utes in hits (83), doubles (19), home runs (11) and RBI (58). He was named to the MWC All-Tournament team.

Utah won its first MWC Tournament this year and advanced to the NCAA Baseball Championships for the first time since 1960, closing the year with a 28-31 record.
