SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team wrapped up the 2010 Utah Invitation Saturday at Liberty Park. Evan Urbina of BYU captured the singles championship with a victory over teammate Patrick Kawka, with a score of 7-5, 7-6(5). Daniel Hwang and Spencer Smith of BYU won the doubles championship, defeating fellow teammates Tyler Loong and Georgy Batrakov, 8-3.
The only Utes in action today were freshmen Brad Weaver and Matt Cowley. The duo fell to Kawka and Urbina of BYU, 8-4 in the consolation finals.
The Utes are back in action at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships, Oct. 20-24, in Las Vegas, Nev.
