Utah Men's Tennis Prepares for ITA Mountain Regional

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team heads to Las Vegas, Nev., for its final tournament of the fall season as the Utes compete at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships. The tournament will be held at the Darling Tennis Center Oct. 20-24.
Last Time at the ITA Mountain Regional: The Utah doubles team of Phillip Eilers and Alex Golding captured he doubles title, advancing to the ITA National Indoor. The No. 3 seeded Eilers advanced through the singles main draw to the final round before losing to the No.12 seeded Vincente Joli of Boise State, 6-2, 7-5.
Week In Review: Last week, the Utes hosted the Utah Invitational at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City. Freshen Brad Weaver and Matt Cowley advanced to the doubles consolation finals before falling to Patrick Kawka and Eva Urbina of BYU, 8-4. Freshman Alejandro Medinilla won the singles consolation championship. Freshman Gino Octa also reached the singles main draw quarterfinals.
The ITA Regional will conclude the fall season for the Utes. Utah will open dual match play Jan. 22, 2011 at home against Weber State.
