I like to go out to eat, watch movies, and hang out with my girlfriend and friends.

Grizzly. For the most part the nickname comes from the fact that I can grow a pretty mean beard.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
I grew up in Provo, so a big reason I chose Utah was to be close to home. The best thing about Utah is going to athletic events like football, basketball, volleyball and hanging out with the baseball team.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
Both of my parents. My dad coached me from elementary school through high school, helping me become the player that I am today My mom has helped me stay positive throughout life.
The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
Rick Anton. He is one of the best players on the team, yet he continues to be one of the hardest workers. At the same time he helps keep a light attitude in the locker room and makes an effort to get along with every player on the team.
What do you like best about Coach Kinneberg?
I like how much emphasis he puts on the kind of energy that players need to bring to games and especially to practice. He wants us bouncing around with a lot of excitement and focus.
What are your pregame superstitions?
I need to button up my jersey when I get dressed, but as the game starts I unbutton the top button. I also like to be hungry just as the game is starting. If I'm the starting pitcher, when I receive the ball in its plastic wrapper, I put the wrapper in my pocket.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
My major is civil engineering. I want to be a structural engineer after I graduate.
