Upcoming Event: Track & Field versus NCAA First Round on May 28, 2026

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah track and field team will be sending a limited group of distance runners to the Stanford Invitational on Friday and Saturday this week.
On Friday night, junior Alyssa Abbott and freshman Amanda Mergaert will be competing in the 1500m run. Volunteer Assistant Coach Shayla Houlihan will also be competing at the meet in the 3000m run. Sophomore Lucy Yates will compete in the 800m run on Saturday.
LAST WEEK
The Utes competed at the Willie Williams Classic to open the outdoor track and field season.
Sophomore Langley Iverson won the high jump with a clearance of 5-7 (1.70m). Senior Sarah Grimm won the hammer throw outright with a toss of 193-4 (58.94m). Freshman Annali Stahl earned second place in the event after a mark of 175-7 (53.51m).
Mergaert won the 800m run after edging ahead in the final leg of the race to finish with a new personal best of 2:10.28. Abbott also competed in the race, missing her personal best time by one second, finishing second overall with a time of 2:10.30.
In the 1500m run, Yates set a new personal best of 4:31.07 in route to a second place finish. Freshmen Jenny McCune and Megan Combe also set new personal bests in the race. McCune crossed the line in 4:51.99 (13th) and Combe had a time of 4:53.22 (14th).
