Utah Soccer Announces SHOW YOUR SCARF Fan Photo Contest

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah Women's Soccer team launched the next phase of its season-long SHOW YOUR SCARF campaign Thursday as it announced the beginning of a weekly fan photo contest. The contest will be run primarily through the team's Facebook fan page at www.facebook.com/utahwsoccer.
Participation in the contest requires only a UTAH UTES scarf, which can be purchased here or by calling 801-581-UTIX.
Every Thursday until the end of the soccer season, the team will announce the "theme of the week" on its Facebook page. Fans will then have until Monday at 7 p.m. MT to email a photo of themselves that involves their scarf and that week's theme to utahwsoccer@gmail.com.
This week's theme is: SHOW YOUR SCARF at your favorite restaurant!
All appropriate and qualifying photos for that week's contest will be posted on the Facebook page every Tuesday, where fans will be able to vote for their favorite by clicking the "like" button for the specified photo. Voting will be open until Wednesday at 7 p.m. MT. Each week's winner and the following week's theme will then be announced via Facebook on Thursday.
Each week's winner will be determined by the number of "likes" it receives on Facebook. Voting is encouraged from anyone and everyone. Fans must have a UTAH UTES scarf to submit eligible photos, but they can participate in the voting without one.
The SHOW YOUR SCARF campaign was launched in July primarily using social networking methods to help increase interest, awareness and participation from all Utah fans. Scarves cost just $20 and double as a season ticket to all Utah Women's Soccer home games. Read the original campaign release, here.
Utah Women's Soccer season ticket sales are already up 300 percent from the previous year. The Utes open the season on Aug. 20 at the Cougar Classic in Pullman, Wash. as they take on Gonzaga. Their first home contest will be Friday, Sept. 3 as they host Loyola Marymount at Ute Field for a 7:30 p.m. MT kickoff.
