LOS ANGELES - Utah head men's basketball coach Larry Krystkowiak and senior center David Foster participated in Pac-12 Media Day Friday at LA Live in Los Angeles. The Utes were picked to finish 12th in the Pac-12 media poll, receiving 74 points.
At the Media Day event, Krystkowiak and Foster conducted interviews with local and national media outlets, filmed public-address announcements and got a taste of some of the venues and facilities that will play host to the Pac-12 conference tournament in March.
UCLA was voted No. 1 in the media poll with 421 points, including 14 first-place votes. California (13) and Arizona (11) were the other two teams to receive first-place nods, placing second and third in the poll, respectively. Defending Pac-12 tournament champion Washington was picked fourth, followed by Oregon in fifth and Stanford in sixth. USC was slotted seventh, Oregon State finished eighth and Arizona State came in ninth. Colorado and Washington State tied for tenth.
Utah begins the 2011-12 season with an exhibition game at the Jon M. Huntsman Center against Adams State on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. MT. The Utes' first regular-season game will also be at home, Monday, Nov. 14, against San Diego Christian College at 7 p.m.
