SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's soccer team has signed 11 student-athletes to play for the Utes this fall, head coach Rich Manning announced Friday.
"We are bringing in a lot of firepower with our 2011 class," said Manning. "The group has shown great athleticism and has some tremendous experience. We feel like we have improved every row of our team. With our move to the Pac 12 this fall, we really wanted to bolster the our current group and we feel like that's been accomplished. Today is a landmark day in the countdown to their arrival and we can't wait to see them on campus."
The class is comprised of seven players from the state of Utah, two from Colorado and one each from California and Georgia. By position, Utah has added five defenders, two midfielders, two forwards and a pair of goalkeepers.
