SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees announced today that the club will host an exhibition game between the Bees and the University of Utah Utes baseball team at Spring Mobile Ballpark on April 5 at 6 p.m. The game, a first-ever matchup between the two teams, will be held following the Bees annual media day.
"Our organization enjoys a great relationship with the University of Utah and we welcome the Utes for a fun matchup against the Bees and future Angels," said Bees General Manager Marc Amicone. "This event is part of our ongoing efforts as an active Salt Lake community partner."
Tickets to the game are $5 each and can be purchased at the Spring Mobile Ballpark box office beginning March 23. All proceeds will benefit Larry H. Miller Charities and the Utes Baseball Scholarship Fund. Gates will open at 5 p.m.
"This is a game that I have been working on since I have been here," said Utah Head Coach Bill Kinneberg. "Our players are really looking forward to it, and it should be a fun night and a great event."
Utah is currently 2-6 overall, with wins over No. 9 Texas A&M and No. 16 Baylor.
