COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Utah junior first baseman C.J. Cron has been named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week. This is the second career weekly honor for Cron and the first this season.

The Phoenix, Ariz., native hit a two-run homer in the first inning in a win against UC Davis. He followed that with a pair of doubles in a 2-for-4 performance at Santa Clara. Against San Jose State, he went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a double. Cron closed out the weekend with three hits in a second win over Santa Clara. His bases-loaded, two-RBI double in the sixth inning gave Utah a three-run lead in the eventual 7-4 victory.
