SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team continues its home stand on Monday, March 21, and Tuesday, March 22, against Southern Utah. Monday's game begins at 6:00 p.m. MT with Tuesday's game starting at 3:00 p.m. MT.
Utah will pitch Josh Chapman (Fr./RHP) on Monday and Joe Pond (So./RHP) on Tuesday. Southern Utah had not released a rotation at press time.
Utah went 2-1 last week in a trio of competitive games against BYU. Michael Beltran's walk-off single lifted Utah to a 3-2 win in game one before the Utes dropped game two, 10-8, after a ninth-inning BYU rally. Big innings lifted Utah to the win in game three, 15-6.
The Utes are 7-8 on the year.
Southern Utah is 8-9 on the season. The Thunderbirds are coming off a 10-inning 13-11 loss to Utah Valley on Saturday, but won two out of three in the series against the Wolverines.
