WEEK THREE
The Utah football team resumes spring camp after taking off for spring break last week. The Utes will practice on Monday and Wednesday, with a scrimmage on Friday. Also on this week's slate is the annual Pro Day on Tuesday. Pro Day is open to the media, but closed to the public and agents. CAMP NOTES
Utah's first spring scrimmage will be held on Friday, Apr. 1 from 5-7 p.m. The Utes will run approximately 80 plays ... Luke Matthews has moved from running back to fullback, where he is now the starter. Jake Murphy is sharing fullback reps with Matthews ... Westlee Tonga is now No. 2 at tight end behind Kendrick Moeai ... Boo Andersen is back at linebacker after trying out at fullback. Andersen is the co-backup to Chaz Walker in the middle (along with V.J. Fehoko) ... Walk-on fullback Max Moala will miss the rest of spring ball after wrist surgery ... DeVonte Christopher remains out this week with a sore hamstring, but could return as soon as next week.ULTIMATE TAILGATE CHAMPIONSHIP
The second-annual Ultimate Tailgate Championship (UTC) will be held on the morning of the Red-White game on April 16. The UTC competition will be held in the West lot with the gates opening at 6 a.m. Judging will take place all morning long and the winners will be announced at halftime of the Red-White game. A total of five winners will be recognized: three division champions, one food winner (theme is "best grilled item") and one overall UTC champion. Tailgate divisions are determined by number of stalls taken (four, eight and 16). The eighth-annual Red-White game will begin at 1 p.m. Registration is required for the Ultimate Tailgate Championship. For questions, please email UtahUTC@live.com.
