KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Junior wing Will Clyburn has been named a first-team all-District 17 selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), the organization announced Wednesday.
After transferring to Utah prior to the start of the season, Clyburn became a consistent 20-point threat in his first year playing NCAA Div. I basketball. The recognition for Clyburn comes two days after he was named a second-team all-Mountain West Conference choice.
Appearing in 29 games this season for the Utes, Clyburn led the team in scoring (17.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg), ranking No. 2 and No. 3 in the Mountain West Conference, respectively. He scored double figures in 25 of his 29 games, hitting the 20-plus point mark 10 times, including a career-high 27 against Weber State. Clyburn also led the team in double-doubles (8), field goals made per game (5.4), 3-point shooting percentage (39.9%), 3-pointers made per game (1.9) and steals (32).
