SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team takes a weekend off from Mountain West Competition to face Tulane, beginning the three-game series on Thursday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
"This will be a good non-conference weekend for us," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "Tulane is a quality program and always has been. Their coach, Rick Jones, has been there a long time and taken them to the World Series. They have a great following and it's a great atmosphere. It will be a good challenge for our guys."
Tulane is 22-15 on the season and 4-8 in Conference USA. They are coming off a 13-8 win over Southeastern Louisiana on Tuesday. Previously, they dropped two of three to Rice.
The Utes will be looking to bounce back after a tough 11th-inning loss to BYU on Tuesday.
"The great thing about baseball is that we play five games a week and we can come back from things like this," said Michael Beltran after Tuesday's game.
