SALT LAKE CITY - Utah baseball signee Keenyn Walker was selected in the 2011 MLB Draft in the compensation round (between rounds one and two) by the Chicago White Sox as the 47th overall pick.
Walker has until August 15th to decide if he wants to enroll at Utah or sign with the White Sox.
Walker, who played center field for Central Arizona College, was second in the ACCAC with a .414 batting average and led the league in runs (66), stolen bases (57), and triples (7). He ranked third in hits (75) and fourth in RBI (43).
He was a three-time all-state selection at Judge Memorial High School in Salt Lake City.
