Utah at California - Quick Hits
? Saturday's game at California will be the 18th meeting between the two schools. Utah trails the all-time series, 9-8, with a 2-4 record on Cal's home floor.
? The last time the Utes and Golden Bears met, Utah dropped a 72-69 decision on a last-second 3-pointer in Salt Lake City in 2008. Utah had won the previous two match-ups, including a 67-65 victory in Berkeley in 2007.
? Utah's leading scorer is Josh "Jiggy" Watkins, at 15.7 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Pac-12 Conference (including all games). He also tops the Utes in assists with 4.9 helpers per contest, which is second-best in the Pac-12. Jason Washburn is Utah's top rebounder at 6.6 boards per game and second-leading scorer with 10.6 points per contest.

Hines Posts Career Scoring Night at Stanford
Junior guard Chris Hines is coming off a career-high 21-point point outburst on a career best nine field goals, including three 3-pointers, in the three-point loss at Stanford on Thursday. Hines also tied his career best of two steals while playing a career-high 38 minutes.
It was Hines' sixth game in double digits this season and the 14th of his career. His previous career-high was 15 points at New Mexico last season.
The Slimest of Margins
In Utah's last three games, the combined margin of victory for the respective winners is nine points. The Utes defeated Washington State on Jan. 5 by two, then fell to Washington on Jan. 7 by four and at Stanford on Thursday by three.
Watkins Among Pac-12 Leaders in Scoring, Assists
Watkins is averaging 15.7 points per game, fourth-best in the Pac-12, including all games played. He has scored double figures in 13 of his 15 games this year and in 18 of his last 20, going back to last season. Watkins has scored double figures in 37 of 46 career games as a Ute and has eclipsed the 20-point plateau 10 times, including a career-high 26 against Portland on Dec. 19.
Watkins has posted at least five assists in nine of his last 11 games and is averaging 4.9 assists per game, second-best in the league. He has led or tied for the team lead in assists 14 times this season.
Farr Knocking Down Shots
Junior forward Dijon Farr is coming off a 12-point game at Stanford that saw him shoot 5-of-6 from the field, including 2-of-2 from 3-point range. It was Farr's second double-digit game in league play.
Farr has picked up his production in the middle stages of the season, beginning with a career-high 16 points vs. Idaho State on Dec. 16. Including that performance, he has averaged 10.3 points per game across the last seven contests while shooting 57% from the field (30-of-53). Farr is now shooting better than 50% for the season at 44-of-86 (51.2%).
Farr is currently Utah's best 3-point threat among players with at least 10 attempts, shooting 50% for the season (8-of-16).
Washburn Reaches 100 Rebounds
Washburn is averaging 6.6 boards per contest, leading the Utes and ranking sixth in the Pac-12.
With seven boards against Washington last week, Washburn eclipsed the 100-rebound mark for the second consecutive season and did so six games faster than last year. He is on pace to reach 200 rebounds for the first time in his career.
Krystkowiak has stated that he would like Utah's big men to maintain a rebounding pace around one every four minutes. With 106 rebounds in 458 minutes this season, Washburn is kdeeping pace at one board every 4.3 minutes.
Washburn has scored double digits in 10 of 16 games this season, including two of Utah's four Pac-12 games.
Washburn is shooting a very efficient 58.3% from the floor for the season (67-of-115), which is highest on the team and fourth-best in the Pac-12. He is also knocking down 78.3% of his free throws (36-of-46), best on the squad and eighth in the Pac-12.
Utes Capture First Pac-12 Home Game in Overtime
Last Thursday was a night of firsts for Utah basketball. The Utes' 62-60 victory over Washington State, marked Utah's first Pac-12 victory, first Pac-12 win at home, first home game as members of the newly expanded league and first overtime win since the 2008-09 season. It was also Utah's first-ever Blackout game in men's basketball.

Following a near-upset bid at Stanford, Utah now holds an all-time record against the Pac-12 to 147-117 (.557), including a 1-3 mark as a member of the league.
Watkins and Storey Dish It Out
Watkins and freshman guard Kareem Storey have have combined for 111 assists on the season to go with 91 turnovers for a 1.2 assist-to-turnover ratio. Twice they have each posted five or more assists in the same game (vs. Idaho State and at Boise State).
The Utes at the Huntsman Center
Utah owns an all-time record of 530-129 (.804) in its current home, the Jon M. Huntsman Center, including a 4-4 mark this season.
The Utes have posted a winning record at home in 38 consecutive seasons, beginning in 1973-74. In conference home games over the last 18 years, Utah is 105-23 (.820), including a 1-1 mark as a member of the Pac-12.
With 15,000 seats, the Huntsman Center is the largest arena in the Pac-12 (excluding temporary and tournament sites).
Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak
With the win against Washington State last week, Krystkowiak picked up his fourth win as the Utes' head coach and his first as a head coach in the Pac-12. For his NCAA coaching career, Krystkowiak is now 46-32 (.590) in his third year.
Krystkowiak (pronounced krist-KOH-vee-ak), who has prior head coaching experience in the NCAA, CBA and NBA, left a position as an assistant coach with the New Jersey Nets to become the 15th head coach in Utah men's basketball history.
In his previous collegiate head coaching post, Krystkowiak led his alma mater, the University of Montana, to a 42-20 record and two NCAA appearances as the Grizzlies' from 2004-06 before joining the NBA coaching ranks.
