Utah at Stanford - Quick Hits
? Thursday's game at Stanford will be the 22nd meeting between the two schools. Utah leads the all-time series, 14-7, including a 2-4 record on Stanford's home floor.
? The last time the Utes and Cardinal met, Utah won an 82-77 decision in overtime in the Sweet 16 on Mar. 20, 1997. Stanford's last victory in the series was an 80-71 win in Palo Alto on Jan. 20, 1973.
? Utah's leading scorer is Josh "Jiggy" Watkins, at 15.6 points per game, which ranks fourth in the Pac-12 conference (including all games). He also tops the Utes in assists with 4.9 helpers per contest, which is second-best in the Pac-12. Jason Washburn is Utah's top rebounder at 6.9 boards per game and second-leading scorer with 10.8 points per contest.
? The Utes are coming off a split of last weekend's games, their first Pac-12 home contests, as they defeated Washington State in overtime, 62-60, then were edged by Washington, 57-53.
? Stanford's top scorer and rebounder is Josh Owens at 13.0 points per game to go with 6.1 boards. Aaron Bright is the Cardinal's second-leading scorer at 12.5 points per contest and tops the team in assists with 3.3 per game.
? Stanford is coming off a road split as the Cardinal fell at Oregon, 78-67, then defeated Oregon State, 103-101 in four overtimes.

Watkins Among Pac-12 Leaders in Scoring, Assists
Watkins is averaging 15.6 points per game, fourth-best in the Pac-12, including all games played. He has scored double figures in 12 of his 14 games this year and in 17 of his last 19, going back to last season. Watkins has scored double figures in 36 of 45 career games as a Ute and has eclipsed the 20-point plateau 10 times, including a career-high 26 against Portland on Dec. 19.
Watkins has posted at least five assists in eight of his last 10 games and is averaging 5.2 assists per game, second-best in the league. He has led or tied for the team lead in assists 13 times this season.
Farr's Contributions
Junior forward Dijon Farr posted a career-high and team-leading eight rebounds against Washington on Saturday. In seven games over the last month, Farr's production in several facets has continued to rise.
After posting a then-career high seven rebounds against BYU on Dec. 10, Farr followed up with a career-high 16 points against Idaho State on Dec. 16. Including that effort, he has averaged 10 points per game across the last six contests while shooting 53% from the field (25-of-47).
Last weekend, Farr scored 10 points in the overtime win against Washington State, then followed up with his eight rebounds vs. Washington.
Farr is currently Utah's best 3-point threat among players with at least 10 attempts, shooting 42.9% for the season (6-of-14).
Martin Off to a Good Start in 2012
In Utah's two games since the beginning of a new calendar year, junior wing Cedric Martin has posted new career highs in rebounds, assists and minutes while averaging 8.0 points per game and shooting 50% from 3-point range.
In Utah's overtime victory against Washington State, Martin collected career highs of eight rebounds and five assists while playing a career-high 42 minutes. He also added five points and made a steal, while playing a key role in Utah's defensive effort that allowed only 60 points--including just 54 in regulation--a season-low by any Utah opponent.
Against Washington on Saturday, Martin was Utah's second-leading scorer with 11 points as he knocked down three 3-pointers and was 2-of-2 at the free throw line.
Washburn Reaches 100 Rebounds
Washburn is averaging 6.9 boards per contest, leading the Utes and ranking sixth in the Pac-12. With seven boards against Washington, eclipsed the 100-rebound mark for the second consecutive season and did so six games faster than last year. He is on pace to reach 200 rebounds for the first time in his career.
Head coach Larry Krystkowiak has stated that he would like Utah's big men to maintain a rebounding pace around one every four minutes. With 103 rebounds in 427 minutes this season, Washburn is keeping pace at one board every 4.1 minutes.
Washburn has scored double digits in 10 of 15 games this season, including two of Utah's three Pac-12 games, and ranks No. 30 in the league coming in at with 10.8 points per game.
Washburn is shooting a very efficient 58.3% from the floor for the season (63-of-108), which is highest on the team and fourth-best in the Pac-12. He is also knocking down 78.3% of his free throws (36-of-46), best on the squad and eighth in the Pac-12.
Utes Capture First Pac-12 Home Game in Overtime
Last Thursday was a night of firsts for Utah basketball. The Utes' 62-60 victory over Washington State, marked Utah's first Pac-12 victory, first Pac-12 win at home, first home game as members of the newly expanded league and first overtime win since the 2008-09 season. It was also Utah's first-ever Blackout game in men's basketball.
Utah vs. the Pac-12
With last weekend's split vs. the Washington schools, Utah now holds an all-time record against the Pac-12 to 147-116 (.559), including a 1-2 mark as a member of the league.
Watkins and Storey Dish It Out
Watkins and freshman guard Kareem Storey have have combined for 105 assists on the season to go with 82 turnovers for a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio. Twice they have each posted five or more assists in the same game (vs. Idaho State and at Boise State).
The Utes at the Huntsman Center
Utah owns an all-time record of 530-129 (.804) in its current home, the Jon M. Huntsman Center, including a 4-4 mark this season.
The Utes have posted a winning record at home in 38 consecutive seasons, beginning in 1973-74. In conference home games over the last 18 years, Utah is 105-23 (.820), including a 1-1 mark as a member of the Pac-12.
With 15,000 seats, the Huntsman Center is the largest arena in the Pac-12 (excluding temporary and tournament sites).
Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak
With the win against Washington State last week, Krystkowiak picked up his fourth win as the Utes' head coach and his first as a head coach in the Pac-12. For his NCAA coaching career, Krystkowiak is now 46-31 (.597) in his third year.
Krystkowiak (pronounced krist-KOH-vee-ak), who has prior head coaching experience in the NCAA, CBA and NBA, left a position as an assistant coach with the New Jersey Nets to become the 15th head coach in Utah men's basketball history.
In his previous collegiate head coaching post, Krystkowiak led his alma mater, the University of Montana, to a 42-20 record and two NCAA appearances as the Grizzlies' from 2004-06 before joining the NBA coaching ranks.
Utes Ink Five for 2012
Utah opened the early signing period by inking five players who will join the Utes for the 2012-13 season. The signing class includes high school seniors Josh Hearlihy (North Hollywood, Calif., Harvard-Westlake HS), Jordan Loveridge (West Jordan, Utah, West Jordan HS) and Justin Seymour (Marietta, Ga., Wheeler HS), along with Southern Utah transfer Dallin Bachynski (Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Sir Winston Churchill HS) and returning LDS missionary Jeremy Olsen (Lawrenceville, Ga., Collins Hill HS).
