With the spring season coming up before we know it, UtahUtes.com will introduce you to the new players on the team in 'Getting to Know.' Today's spotlight is junior Tanner Banks, who was an all-region player at Salt Lake Community College.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
Winning the region tourney and dog-piling at Western Nevada, and throwing a no-hitter.
What is your favorite sport besides baseball?
Ping pong
What do you like to do when you are not playing baseball?
Hike or swim.
Do you have a nickname?
T-Banks
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
Good atmosphere, close to home, and knowing everybody on the team.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My parents. They always do whatever they can to support me.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
The mountains.
What do you like best about Coach Kinneberg?
He is a nice guy.
What are your goals for this year?
To become a weekend starter.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
Sports and exercise science. I want to play pro baseball or PT.
