With baseball season starting up today, UtahUtes.com will introduce you to the new players on the team in 'Getting to Know.' Today's spotlight is junior Connor Eppard.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
My favorite baseball memory was having a really close team last year that was super successful.
What is your favorite sport besides baseball?
Football
What do you like to do when you are not playing baseball?
I love the outdoors. I love to hunt and fish.
Do you have a nickname? How did you get your nickname?
Epp, it is just short for my last name.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
I chose Utah because it is close to home and in a great conference. Plus, it just seemed like a place I would like. The best part is the team and how we get along.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My parents. They have always supported me and pushed me to be a great person.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
My favorite thing about Salt Lake is its proximity to the mountains. I like it because I can get away and clear my mind.
The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
Wags (Tyler Wagner) because he always has energy and he is always happy to be around the team.
What do you like best about Coach Kinneberg?
I like the way he manages the team and how he always tells it like it is.
What are your goals for this year?
My goals for this year are to have a very successful year as a team, win the conference, earn a starting job and hit over .350.
What are your pregame superstitions?
Pray, and eat a healthy breakfast - eggs, hash browns and milk.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
My major is Parks, Recreation and Tourism. I chose it because it fits things I love.
