Due to inclement weather expected in the Los Angeles area this weekend, Friday's game has been changed to a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 p.m. PT.
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team plays its first Pac-12 game this weekend in Los Angeles at USC, beginning on Friday, March 16, at 6:00 p.m. PT.
Utah went 2-2 last weekend at the Jack Gifford Memorial Tournament, defeating Lehigh and Columbia. The Utes had solid outings against Santa Clara and San Jose State, despite the losses.
USC is ranked 27th in the NCBWA Poll with a 12-3 record. The Trojans are coming off a three-game sweep of CSU Bakersfield, and have won their last five games.
"I think all of our sports have felt this way, but the first chance to play in the Pac-12 is special," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We're playing a very good team in USC with great players and a great tradition. We've got our hands full. We just need to try to get better every day, and we hope to go down and play well this weekend."
Utah's Joe Pond will face USC's Andrew Triggs in game one of the series.
