SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team travels west to take on California in a three-game Pac-12 series, beginning on Friday, April 20, at 2:30 p.m. PT.
Utah (10-25, 5-10 Pac-12) has won two of its last three games, taking a 4-3 extra-inning win in game two against Washington State last weekend and beating in-state rival BYU on Tuesday, 6-4.
Cal is coming off a College World Series appearance in 2011. The Golden Bears are 20-15 overall and 4-8 in the Pac-12. Cal has won three of its last four, taking two of three from Washington last weekend and beating Santa Clara, 4-0, in its midweek game.
Utah will start Joe Pond on Friday's game, with Cal starting Michael Theofanopoulos.
