Signee Dallas Carroll Named Deseret News Mr. Baseball

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah baseball signee Dallas Carroll has been named the 2012 Deseret News Mr. Baseball.

Dallas and his twin brother Dalton (a first-team all-state selection) will both join the Utes next season. Dallas hit .412 with two home runs, 12 doubles and three triples while Dalton batted .467 with three home runs, eight doubles and two triples while going 8-2 on the mound with a 1.11 ERA. The duo led Taylorsville to a runner-up finish at the 5A state tournament.

Other signees selected as first-team all-state selections in Utah were Connor Williams (Bingham HS) and Cam Zollinger (Bountiful HS). Williams, a pitcher and outfielder, went 7-1 on the mound while hitting .390 with 26 RBI. Zollinger was the Region 6 MVP, hitting .396 while playing shortstop.
