Six Utes Selected to Pac-12 Baseball All-Academic Teams

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Six Utah baseball players have been named to the 2012 Pac-12 Baseball All-Academic teams, including first-team selection Shaun Cooper.
Cooper, a senior outfielder, is majoring in exercise sport science and has a 3.63 GPA. Junior pitcher Joe Pond was a second-team selection. He has a 3.56 GPA in finance.
Honorable mention selections were senior shortstop James Brooks, sophomore pitcher Josh Chapman, sophomore infielder Cory Hunt and junior outfielder Tyler Relf.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
