KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Redshirt senior David Foster has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, the organization announced Tuesday. The award recognizes those student-athletes who excelled academically during the 2011-12 season.
Foster, who sat out the 2011-12 season following foot surgery and was granted a medical redshirt, graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in Speech Communications while maintaining a 3.28 career GPA. Foster will begin graduate school this Fall, pursuing a master's degree in Human Development, while playing his final year of eligibility for the Utes.
Foster is Utah's all-time leading shot-blocker with 219 swatted shots. He also owns the top two single-season blocks records, including a school-record 115 rejections in 2009-10, as well as the single-game record of 10 blocks at Weber State in 2009.
