Utah Men's Tennis Wraps Up ITA Mountain Regional Championships

LAS VEGAS - The University of Utah men's tennis team wrapped up competition Saturday at the 2013 ITA Mountain Regional Championships at the Darling Tennis Center. Juniors Cedric Willems and Cameron Lee had a strong showing in doubles to reach the semifinals, while Willems reached the semifinals of the singles consolation draw.
In doubles action, the ninth-seeded juniors upset UNLV's fourth-seeded Ace Matias and Denys Pume, 8-7 to advance to the semifinals, where they fell to seventh-seeded Brendan McClain and Garrett Patton of Boise State, 8-3.
In the singles consolation draw, Willems downed Utah State's Sean Levesque, 6-1, 6-1 in the quarterfinals. He then dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision to 25th-seeded Pume in the semifinal round, 6-3, 6-4.
