Utah vs. Washington Game Notes ![]()
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team travels to Washington this weekend for its final Pac-12 road series of the year, beginning Friday, May 10, at 5:00 p.m. PT. The series continues on Saturday, May 11, at 12:00 p.m. PT and Sunday, May 12, at 12:00 p.m. PT.
Saturday and Sunday's games will be aired on the Pac-12 Network.
"We need to somehow find a way to get over the hump and make that play, get that big pitch and get that important hit," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We're close but we still have to close things out. We have to win the seventh, eighth and ninth innings and that's something we haven't done the last three weeks."
Utah will start Mitch Watrous on the mound on Friday followed by Dalton Carroll on Saturday and Tanner Banks on Sunday.
The Utes are coming off a three-game series at ninth-ranked UCLA. The team was scheduled to play BYU on Tuesday, but it was cancelled because of weather.
"There were some really bright spots [against UCLA], but coming up short on all three games is disappointing when we had chances to win all three," Kinneberg said.
Washington is 17-29 overall and 8-13 in the Pac-12. The Huskies recently won two of three against Arizona and defeated Seattle in a midweek game.
