Utah Prepares for USA Futures Event

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah men's tennis team sends five individuals to Costa Mesa, Calif., to compete in the F24 USA Futures Event this weekend.
"I am excited to get the season started and happy that we can provide our student-athletes the opportunity to compete in Futures events," said head coach F.D. Robbins. "It will be interesting to see how they match up against other participants in the Futures. It's a great opportunity for them to get some matches under their belts and for us coaches to see where we stand."
In the first round, senior Alejandro Medinilla will take on Marc Vartabedian from UC Santa Cruz, while fellow seniors Devin Lane and Ben Tasevac face Eduardo Nava and UC Santa Barbara's Axel Bouillin, respectively. Junior Slim Hamza will duel UCLA's Joseph Digiulio as fellow junior Cedric Willems takes on Emmett Egger of Washington.
