SALT LAKE CITY - Former Utah pitcher Tyler Wagner recently closed out participation in the Arizona Fall League, which is made up of the six top prospects from each major league team.
Wagner was named to the league's all-star game, and finished the year 0-1 with a save, throwing over 13 1/3 innings over nine games. He had a 7.43 ERA and seven strikeouts.
Former Ute C.J. Cron also participated in the league in 2013.
Wagner is coming off a strong year with the Brevard County Manatees in the Florida State League, advanced A team for the Milwaukee Brewers. He was named as one of the league's postseason all-stars, and finished the year 13-6 with a 1.86 ERA in 25 games. He had 118 strikeouts.
While at Utah, Wagner set records for saves in a season (12, 2011) and in a career (17, 2010-12).
