Utah Men's Basketball Student-Athletes Honored by NABC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced that three Utah student-athletes were named to the Honors Court for the 2013-14 season due to their academic success.
Xan Ricketts was honored for the second year in a row and recently graduated with a 3.90 GPA in Business. Jeremy Olsen and Austin Eastman were recognized for the first time. Olsen owns a 3.77 GPA in Business while Eastman has a 3.60 in Engineering.
Utah was one of only three Pac-12 teams to have players make the honor roll, joining Arizona State (2) and Stanford (4).
This past season, the Utes also put a program record five student-athletes on the Pac-12 All-Academic Teams. Olsen was named to the first team and earned scholastic honors for the second-consecutive season. He was honored along with fellow Utes Brandon Taylor, Renan Lenz, Dakarai Tucker and Dallin Bachynski.
A record number 894 student-athletes from 338 colleges and universities earned NABC Honors Court distinction.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
