Kelly on why he chose Utah:
"When I visited the campus at Salt Lake, it just felt right. Walking around I knew I was going to be successful there. I knew University of Utah was going to be the stepping stone I needed to be complete my goals."
Lamar CC Coach Scott Crampton on Kelly:
"Ellis Kelly is one of the most talented middle infielders I have ever coached. He was a first-team all-region player as a freshman and is developing into one of the best players in the junior college ranks. Ellis Kelly is a team leader who holds himself to a high character standard. He is a class act both on and off the field. The University of Utah is getting a top notch player and person in Ellis Kelly."
