Utah Baseball to Host 'An Evening with Jim Palmer'
SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team began practice for its 2015 campaign on Friday, Jan. 23, traveling to St. George, Utah, and getting in several scrimmages.
"It was really refreshing to have the whole team out there and be able to practice in St. George on Dixie's field," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "The weather was great. We got a lot of work in. We had two scrimmages, and got in some live at-bats and live situations. Overall it was a great three days for us."

The Utes will continue practice this week in Salt Lake City, and depending on the weather may go back to St. George for more outdoor practices before their Feb. 13 opener at Sacramento State.
"This week we'll continue to get our guys in shape," Kinneberg said. "We'll get the starting pitchers stretched out, and get them progressing and get their throwing done. We're looking for improvement. We'll scrimmage end of this week again, and we want to see improvement in just about every phase. I thought our defense was subpar this weekend, so that has to get a little better. Each phase just needs to continue to work its way through so that we're ready for Sac State."
The Utes 2015 roster has 15 new players, along with key returners Kody Davis, Wyler Smith, Dallas Carroll and Dalton Carroll.
