SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team has two more weeks remaining in its fall practice season.
"Practice has gone very well," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "Since the BYU game we've implemented more of our game plan. The guys are handling it very well. We're looking forward to playing UNLV the end of the week and then finishing with our World Series. We're almost 3/4 of the way done with our team practices and things have gone well. We've stayed somewhat healthy and some freshmen have really started to develop and get used to Division I baseball."
Utah scrimmages at UNLV on Saturday, Oct. 24. Fall practice team practices close with a fall World Series on Oct. 27, 29 and 30 at Ute Field. The Utes will continue individual work through the winter.
Key returners for the Utes include three-year starters Kody Davis (2B), Dallas Carroll (3B), Dalton Carroll (RHP), Cody Scaggari (SS), Wyler Smith (OF) and AJ Young (C). Sophomore pitcher Jayson Rose, who led the Utes in ERA and strikeouts, was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection last year.
