SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team will close out their fall practice season with a three-game World Series, held Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of this week (Oct. 27, 28 and 30).
The Utes scrimmaged at UNLV last weekend.
"It was good for us to get on the road as a team and experience that part of it," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "We played 14 innings and some groups had very good performances, but there is still a lot that we need to work on. All-in-all, it was a good day for us.
"This will be a good culmination to our team workouts," Kinneberg said.
The Utes will continue individual work through the winter.
Key returners for the Utes include three-year starters Kody Davis (2B), Dallas Carroll (3B), Dalton Carroll (RHP), Cody Scaggari (SS), Wyler Smith (OF) and AJ Young (C). Sophomore pitcher Jayson Rose, who led the Utes in ERA and strikeouts, was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection last year.
Scrimmage ScheduleTues, Oct. 27 - 3:30 p.m.Wed, Oct. 28 - 3:30 p.m.Fri, Oct. 30 - 3:30 p.m.* All games held at Ute Field on Guardsman Way. Schedule subject to change.
