With baseball season beginning on Friday against Sacramento State, we come to our final 'Getting to Know' of the year with Connor Caspersen, who played at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, Calif.
What is your favorite baseball memory?
My junior year when we beat De LaSalle in the NCS DI baseball championship.
What is your favorite sport besides baseball?
Football
What do you like to do when you are not playing baseball?
Hang out with friends, swim.
Do you have a nickname? How did you get your nickname?
Some people call me Caspy because it's part of my last name, but I really don't have a nickname.
Why did you choose Utah? What is the best thing about Utah?
I chose Utah because the coaches are great, it's in the Pac-12 and I fell in love with the campus. The mountains are my favorite part.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
Both my Mom and Dad, they work so hard to make everything work and are always there for my siblings and I.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
The mountain ranges and the scenery.
What are your goals for this year?
To do all I can to help my team win, and to make it to Omaha.
What are your pregame superstitions?
I don't have many superstitions, but I pray before every game.
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
I'm undecided right now, but I want to do something involving sports.
