Ottesen on why he chose Utah:
"It's a school that I fit in with and it fits me. I've always wanted to be a part of the Utes sports program and I believe it is the future in the making and will soon be out on top in the Pac 12. In all aspects the University of Utah is what I want and need for my future and that's why I have chosen to go to Utah."
American Fork HS Head Coach Jared Ingersoll on Ottesen:
"Riley Ottesen is a great player with toughness and the confidence you want in a player. He wants the ball in his hands in the big game and has proven that he can do it. As good of a player as he is, he is even a better individual. He has made sacrifices in life that will make him a great player for you. I love him like a son. He was the winning pitcher in the state championship game, and there were several moments he could have melted, but instead got tougher in those pressure situations."
