KANSAS CITY - Utah senior guard Delon Wright was named a second team All-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). This comes a few days after being named to the All-District 20 First Team.
The U.S. Basketball Writers of America named Wright a second team All-American on Mar. 16 and he was recently named District VIII Player of the Year by the USBWA as well as being honored as a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference First Team choice.
The senior guard was also chosen to the Pac-12's All-Defensive Team for the second-consecutive year. He is a currently a finalist for the Cousy Award, given to the nation's top point guard, and for the John Wooden Award and James Naismith Award, both given to the nation's top player.
Wright completed his collegiate career on Friday when the Utes lost in the Sweet 16 to No. 1 Duke in Houston. Wright finished third all-time at Utah in steals despite only playing two seasons. He ranked second in the Pac-12 in assist-to-turnover ratio (26th nationally), third in steals (23rd nationally) and sixth in free-throw percentage. The senior also finished third in the league in assists and 10th in scoring. Wright finished his career with 1,022 points, 397 rebounds, 352 assists, 155 steals and 77 blocks.
