SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team ends its regular season this weekend at Washington, with a three-game series beginning on Friday, May 22, at 7:00 p.m. PT. The series continues on Saturday, May 23, at 7:00 p.m. PT, and Sunday, May 24, at 3:00 p.m. PT.
The games will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks with Jason Knapp and Scott Erickson calling the action. The Utes (16-33-1, 7-19-1 Pac-12) have struggled as of late, going 0-6-1 in their last seven games, but look to close out the year on a strong note against a Washington team that has dropped its last three games.
Utah's seven Pac-12 wins is tied for the most they have had in league play since joining the conference in 2012. Highlights in Pac-12 play this season have included a series win over Arizona, striking out 17 in a win against California, earning Utah's first win over Arizona State since 1960 and a walk-off, 10-inning victory over USC.
Utah is second in the Pac-12 in stolen bases (70) and leads the league batters hit by pitch (75). Kody Davis is seventh in the conference in on-base percentage (.423) and ranks fourth in the NCAA in times hit by pitch (23). AJ Young is tied for fourth in the league in doubles (15). Dallas Carroll ranks fifth in the Pac-12 in stolen bases (16) while Davis is tied for sixth with 15. Dalton Carroll ranks eighth in the conference in innings pitched (86).
Washington (26-25, 11-16 Pac-12) is coming off a non-conference series against Cal State Northridge, falling in all three games. The Huskies took two of three from Arizona the weekend prior, and have also won a conference series against Stanford this year.
