KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced that three Utah student-athletes were named to the Honors Court for the 2014-15 season, recognizing these men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
Brandon Taylor was recognized for the first time in his career, while Jeremy Olsen and Austin Eastman were both recognized for a second-straight season. Taylor, who was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team earlier this season, owns a 3.46 GPA in Psychology. Olsen, who was also named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, tallied a 3.70 GPA in Accounting, while Eastman garnered Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team honors with a 3.58 GPA in Mechanical Engineering.
Utah was one of three Pac-12 teams to have players make the honor roll, joining Stanford (3) and Washington State (1).
The NABC recognized a record number 1,000 student-athletes from more than 350 colleges and universities on this year's Honors Court.
In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows:
1. Academically a junior or senior and a varsity player.
2. Cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2013-14 academic year.
3. Students must have matriculated at least one year at their current institution.
4. Member of an NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
