Top 25
Utah broke into the Top 25 this week, appearing at No. 24 in the AP poll and No. 25 in the Coaches' poll. It is the sixth time in school history that the Utes have been ranked one week into the season and the first time since 2010, when they entered at No. 20 in both polls after beating No. 15 Pittsburgh in the season opener.
Friday Night Lights
Utah is 20-11 all-time in games played on a Friday ... The first game in Utah football history was a Friday, Nov. 25 loss at Utah State in 1892 ... Utah is 0-2 against USU in Friday games, most recently losing in overtime in 2012 in Logan.
Connections
Senior defensive end Jason Fanaika and junior linebacker Sharrieff Shah Jr. began their college careers at Utah State. Fanaika played in 21 games with five starts in two seasons at USU from 2010-11 before leaving on a church mission and later transferring to Utah. Shah redshirted at USU as a freshman in 2012 ... Aggie defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Kevin Clune was a U. graduate assistant in 2001-02, where he assisted with running backs and linebackers ... Aggie senior linebacker LT Filiaga lettered at Utah from 2012-13.

Utah is 15-6 in all-time appearances on ESPN2 ... Utah's 24-17 victory over Michigan was the highest-rated and most-watched college football game on FOX Sports 1 since its launch in 2013, posting a 1.73 household rating, with 2.868 million viewers, according to figures released by Nielsen. It is the second time Utah has made history on FS1. Its game against Utah State on Aug. 29, 2013 was the first football game televised on FOX Sports 1 ... Utah was one of seven teams in the country that had at least three interceptions during the opening weekend.

Junior nickel back Justin Thomas is Utah's first Pac-12 Player of the Week for 2015. Thomas returned an interception 55 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to give Utah a 24-10 lead over Michigan. He also had four tackles. It is first time Thomas has won the award ... Junior cornerback Dominique Hatfield has been reinstated to the team, ending a suspension that began on July 6. Hatfield, a returning starter, had 38 tackles (1.5 TFL), an interception and nine pass breakups last season ... Senior tight end Evan Moeai is lost for the season after an injury on a 5-yard reception in Utah's first series against Michigan. Junior Siale Fakailoatonga replaces Moeai as the starter and sophomore Harrison Handley is the backup ... Four Utes made their first career starts against Michigan: Moeai, Sam Tevi, Tyrone Smith and Cory Butler-Byrd ... Four true freshmen played: Smith, Britain Covey, Cody Barton and Austin Lee.

The first 100 fans at the pre-game Ute Walk to text UtahFB to 53535 will receive a Sack Lake City t-shirt. The Ute Walk begins two-and-a-half hours before kickoff at 4:30 p.m. on the corner of Guardsman Way and 500 South ...
