SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team continues on the road this weekend with a three-game series against Saint Mary's, March 11-13.

Schedule Update: Utah will play a doubleheader on Saturday due to rain that is projected to hit the area. The first game will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT with the second game following approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. There will not be a game on Sunday.

The Utes begin play on Friday, March 11, at 2:00 p.m. PT. On Saturday, March 12, the two teams square off at 1:00 p.m. PT. Sunday's game begins at 1:00 p.m. PT.
Utah (3-9) went 1-3 against Houston Baptist last weekend in several low-scoring games. Utah fell 2-1 in 10 innings in game one despite a solid performance on the mound from Jayson Rose, and Dalton Carroll pitched Utah's first shutout of the season in game two's 2-0 win. The Utes fell 7-3 in game three and 4-1 in game four.
"The end results were not what we anticipated or wanted, but we did some things well, particularly on the pitching side, where three of our four starters did a nice job getting us to the seventh inning," Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "So we really pitched well, and offensively we put a lot of runners on base, but ultimately we did not score many of them. That's something that we are going to have to do a better job at, is continuing to swing the bats well but get those timely hits and RBIs."
The Utes are tied for the Pac-12 lead with seven home runs. Utah leads the league in fielding assists (133) and ranks second in double plays (14). Kody Davis leads the league in stolen bases (5-of-6).
Saint Mary's is 7-6 on the season and recently went 2-2 at the Wildcat Invitational, winning two games against CSU Bakersfield and falling to Northwestern State and Arizona. The Gaels play San Jose State on Tuesday before facing the Utes.
After a contest at BYU on Tuesday, March 15, the Utes begin the Pac-12 schedule on Friday, March 18, at Oregon.
