UTAH NOTES
- Utah has won 20 of its last 28 contests and owns the No. 29 RPI in the nation. Eight of the Pac-12's nine teams are ranked in the top 35
- After three weeks of Pac-12 play, Utah leads the league in stolen bases (15), ranks second in slugging (.538), third in batting (.304) and fourth in homers (13) and on-base percentage (.396)
- Utah currently ranks third in the Pac-12 with a 2.65 earned run average. The Utes have only allowed 13 homers and 100 runs this season, fewest in the Pac-12
- Katie Donovan's 1.98 ERA puts her second in the Pac-12, with opponents batting .222 (4th). She also rates fourth in innings pitched and sixth in strikeouts.
- Defensively, the Utes are second in the Pac-12 with a .971 fielding percentage. Kristen Stewart and Anissa Urtez are second and third in fielding assists with Hannah Flippen ranking fifth
LAST TIME OUT
- In the final game of their series against Cal, Katie Donovan pitched a complete-game, three-hit shutout as the Utes got a pair of two-run homers from Anissa Urtez and Heather Bowen.
- In game two, Kay Kay Fronda had a pair of hits, Kristen Stewart hit her fourth home run and Miranda Viramontes pitched a career-high 7 2/3 innings as the Utes fell in extras, 4-3.
- In game one, Hannah Flippen hit her team-leading 11th home run but the Utes allowed nine runs during the final two innings, losing 11-3.
FLIPPEN NAMED ESPN'S NATIONAL POW
Utah junior second baseman Hannah Flippen was named the NCAA National Player of the Week by ESPNW on March 30.
Flippen, a National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American as a freshman, is a two-time NFCA All-Pacific Region selection as well as a two-time All-Pac-12 honoree and a Pac-12 All-Academic selection.
She currently ranks third among Pac-12 players in home runs and stolen bases, fourth in total bases, walking and slugging, seventh in batting average and eighth in runs scored and on-base percentage
In Pac-12 play, she leads the league with a .591 batting average, a 1.591 slugging percentage, an. 743 on-base percentage, 35 total bases, 13 walks, six home runs and five stolen bases.

The Utes have played 13 contests against teams ranked in the top 35 of the latest USA Softball Poll
In fact, 19 of Utah's 36 games this season have been played against teams with a top-50 RPI.
Utah will play nine former NCAA Champions during the regular season, most of any other team in the nation.

Mary Kay Amicone, the head coach at Weber State, is a Utah alum ('83) and former assistant. She has a career record of 599-231-2 in 15 seasons as a collegiate head coach.
