C.J. Cron, in his third season with the Los Angeles Angels, had been hitting particularly well over the last month, hitting .323 with 26 RBI over his last 30 games with a .278 batting average for the season. He became just the third player in Angels history with six hits in a game in a 6-for-6, five-RBI, two homer performance against the Red Sox on July 3. Unfortunately, he suffered a broken hand in a game against the Orioles on Friday, July 8, and is currently on the disabled list.

Tyler Wagner is currently with the Reno Aces, the AAA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He is 1-4 with a 3.04 ERA and 15 strikeouts over five games played. Wagner, who made his MLB debut with the Brewers last year, also had a three-game stint with the Diamondbacks from April 18-25. He picked up his first major league against the Giants in a five-inning relief outing on April 21. Wagner has been on the disabled list since May 14.

Parker Morin, in his fifth year in the minors, is with the AAA Omaha Storm Chasers. He is hitting .164 over 50 games with seven doubles and 13 RBI. During spring training Morin was presented with the Royals Mike Sweeney Award, which recognizes the player who best represents the organization on and off the field.

Trey Nielsen is with the AA Springfield Cardinals and is 6-6 in 15 starts with a 3.49 ERA and 57 strikeouts. He recently made a spot start with the AAA Memphis Redbirds on Saturday, July 9, picking up the win after throwing 5 1/3 innings in the start, allowing just one run on two hits with four strikeouts.

Tanner Banks started his season with the Kannapolis Intimidators and was promoted in early June to the Winston-Salem Dash. He was named to the South Athletic League All-Star Game as a member of the Intimidators and earned SAL Pitcher of the Week honors on April 24 after throwing a complete-game shutout against West Virginia. Banks is currently 4-0 in Winston-Salem in five starts with a 3.60 ERA and 17 strikeouts.

Stephen Fife returns to the field after spending 2015 rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He played in the Venezuelan Winter League and signed a minor league contract with the Cubs in December, 2015. Fife has played in three games with the AAA Iowa Cubs and has been on the disabled list since May 24. He has been in the pros since 2008 and played parts of three seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2012-14).

After spending time in independent ball and in the Australian league following his 2014 graduation from Utah, T.J. Bennett signed a free-agent minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants in March. He has played briefly with four different teams, mostly with the San Jose Giants in the California League, where he is hitting .271 in 13 games.
