FAST BREAKS
> Utah moved to 2-1 in conference play following an 88-82 road win at Arizona State this past Saturday.
> The Utes are off to its second-best start in Pac-12 play since joining the conference in 2011. Utah opened conference play at 4-0 back in 2014-15.
> Utah, who is 1-0 in conference play this season, is riding a nine-game home winning streak over Pac-12 teams which dates back to last season. Utah's last loss to a Pac-12 foe at the Huntsman Center was a 77-59 defeat to Oregon back on Jan. 14, 2016.
> In addition to its current nine-game winning streak, Utah has won 24 of its past 28 conference games at home dating back to the 2013-14 season.
> The Utes will be facing AP Top-25 ranked teams in back-to-back games during the regular season for the first time since 2011 (No. 6 San Diego State and No. 7 BYU).

Kyle Kuzma is coming off a career-high 26-point effort against the Arizona State. Kuzma set a new season-high and tied a career-high with three three-pointers against the Sun Devils.

THE GAME
The Utah Runnin' Utes (11-4, 2-1) return home to the friendly confines of the Huntsman Center this week to host a pair of top-25 teams from both Los Angeles squads.
The Utes will host the No. 25/25-ranked USC Trojans (15-2, 2-2) this Thursday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. and will close out the week hosting the No. 4/4 ranked UCLA Bruins (16-1, 3-1) on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 3 p.m.
COVERING THE RUNNIN' UTES
Both Thursday and Saturday's contests will be televised live on the Pac-12 Network. J.B. Long will call the action, while Don MacLean provides color commentary for Thursday's game. Long will again provide play-by-play for Saturday's contest and he will be joined by Matt Muehlebach, who will be on-hand for color commentary.

Utah earned a split in the desert following its 88-82 win over Arizona State this past Saturday.

Kyle Kuzma registered a career-high 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting and a 3-of-4 effort from beyond the arc. He registered his seventh double-double of the season as well, with 12 rebounds.

David Collette matched a season-high with 18 points and had a team-high two blocked shots.
• The Utes had four players score in double-figures for the 11th time this season. Utah is 9-2 overall in games where at least four players score 10+ points.
• Utah shot a season-high 50 percent (8-16) from three-point range. It was the first time the Utes had shot 50 percent or better from downtown since a 58 percent effort against Washington last season.
• The Utes totaled 20 assists and were led by senior
Lorenzo Bonam's seven assists on the day. Utah has tallied 20+ assists in five games this season.
• Utah pulled down a team-total 40 rebounds in the win. The Utes have now posted 40+ rebounds in seven games on the year.
ABOUT USC
• The Trojans are coming off a 74-73 loss to California at home this past Sunday.
• USC has dropped two of its last three games after opening the season 14-0.
• The Trojans have five players averaging double-digits on the season, but just three of those players have scored in double figures through the first four conference games.
• Jordan McLaughlin leads the team with 14.5 points per game on the season, while Chimezie Metu leads the squad with 14.3 ppg in conference play.
• Metu leads USC with 8.1 rebounds per game and has a team-high 31 blocks on the season.
• McLaughlin has a team-high 86 assists on the season, while his 5.1 assists per game ranks third in the Pac-12.
• De'Anthony Melton leads USC with 31 steals. The Trojans lead the conference with 121 total steals and a 7.1 steals-per-game average.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE TROJANS
Utah has a 21-17 advantage in the all-time series and has won seven consecutive games against USC dating back to the 2012-13 season. The Utes won the only meeting between the two teams in the regular season last year (80-69) and later defeated the Trojans, 80-72, in the first round of the Pac-12 Championship Tournament in Las Vegas.
USC's last win over Utah was a 76-59 victory over the Utes back on Jan. 12, 2013 in Salt Lake City. Despite that home loss, Utah still leads the all-time series 11-6 with games played at the U.
Thursday's contest marks the seventh time Utah has faced a USC squad that was ranked in the AP Top-25. The Utes are 0-6 all-time when facing a ranked Trojan team.
ABOUT UCLA
• UCLA has won three straight after opening conference play with a road loss to Oregon back on Dec. 28.
• The Bruins opened the season with a 13 game winning streak prior to its loss to the Ducks.
• UCLA joins Utah as the only two teams in the Pac-12 that has six players averaging double-digit scoring efforts on the season.
• TJ Leaf leads the Bruins with 17.4 points per game, while Bryce Alford follows with 16.8 ppg.
• Alonzo Ball has dished out a league-best 136 assists on the season, which also ranks second in the nation. His 8.0 assists per game leads all players in the league.
• UCLA is one of just three teams that have tallied 100+ blocks on the season. They have 110 blocked shots on the year and rank third in the league with 6.5 blocks per game. Thomas Welsh leads the team with 27 blocked shots.
• UCLA is the only team in the Pac-12 and one of just five teams in the nation averaging 90+ points on the year. The Bruins head into the week averaging 92.8 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE BRUINS
The Bruins lead the all-time series 8-7, but Utah won the only meeting between the two teams last season. The Utes downed UCLA 75-73 in Los Angeles back on Feb. 18, 2016, giving Utah its first win over the Bruins in LA since 1961.
Utah is 3-2 all-time when facing the Bruins in Salt Lake City, which includes a 2-1 mark since the Utes joined the Pac-12 Conference. Utah has won the past two meetings against UCLA inside the Huntsman Center.
Thursday's contest marks the fourth time Utah has faced a UCLA squad that was ranked in the AP Top-25. The Utes are 2-1 all-time when facing a ranked Bruin team.
BACK-TO-BACK TOP-25 TEAMS
Utah will face a pair of AP Top-25-ranked teams in back-to-back contests during the regular season for the first time since 2011.
The last time a Utah team face ranked teams back-to-back in the regular season came back on Jan. 8 and Jan. 11, 2011. The Utes faced then No. 6-ranked San Diego State and followed with a match-up against No. 7-ranked BYU.
Heading into this week's back-to-back affair, the Utes had played top-25 ranked teams in consecutive games (regular season only) on 18 different occasions.
KUZMA GOES OFF IN TEMPE
Junior
Kyle Kuzma registered his seventh double-double of the season, while pouring in a career-high 26 points and pulling down 12 rebounds in Utah's win against Arizona on Saturday.
Kuzma surpassed his previous mark of 23 points, which he recorded in the season-opener this year and once again last season. The Flint, Mich., native was 11-of-17 from the field, which included a 3-of-4 effort from downtown. His three three-pointers made matches a career-high, which he has set three different times.
COLLETTE NOTCHES DOUBLE-DIGITS ... AGAIN
Junior
David Collette notched a double-figure scoring effort for the seventh time in as many games with 18 points in Utah's win at Arizona State. The Murray, Utah, native has scored 11 points or more in each game since debuting with the Utes back on Dec. 17.
Collette's 18-point effort against the Sun Devils matches his season-high, which he also recorded against San Francisco back on Dec. 22.
Collette's 15.4 points per game average ranks first among the team for both the previous seven games, as well as the entire season.
ZAMORA SETTLING IN AS STARTER FOR UTES
Junior
JoJo Zamora has started the past seven games for the Utes and seems to be settling in nicely in the starter role. Zamora has averaged 9.6 points per game the past seven games since becoming a starter and his 47 percent (11-of-23) effort from three-point range is a team-best. He also ranks second on the team with five steals over the past seven games.
DOWNTOWN WITH ZAMORA
Zamora has been on fire from the three-point arc over the previous five games, connecting on 10 of his 17 attempts from downtown for a .588 shooting percentage.
Zamora has averaged 2.0 three-pointers made per game and his 10 total trey's is 50 percent more than Utah's next competitor (Kuzma, 5).
DISHING OUT THE DIMES
Senior
Lorenzo Bonam led Utah with seven assists in Utah's win at Arizona State this past Saturday. Bonam registered five of his game-high seven assists in the second half, where the Utes outscored the Sun Devils 54-45. Bonam had just a pair of assists in the first half and Utah went into the locker room down three points, 37-34.
The Utes tallied 20 assists as a team against Arizona State and has now registered 20+ assists in five games this season. Utah ranks third in the Pac-12 with 15.4 assists per game.
CLEANING THE GLASS
Utah leads the league and ranks 14th in the nation with a +8.7 rebound margin. The Utes have tallied 39.8 rebounds per game, while giving up just 31.1 boards to opposing squads. Utah's 39.8 boards per game ranks third in the Pac-12 and 40th in the nation.
Utah, who tallied 40 rebounds against the Sun Devils this past week, has posted 40+ rebounds in seven games this season.
Junior
Kyle Kuzma ranks fifth in the conference and 43rd in the nation with 9.4 rebounds per game, while his 6.7 defensive rebounds per game ranks 35th among all players in the NCAA.

The Utes will be back on the road next week, heading to the Evergreen State to take on Washington State and Washington. The Utes will face the Cougars next Wednesday, Jan. 18, and then close out the week against the Huskies the following Saturday, Jan. 21.
