• Utah will wrap-up non-conference play hosting Northwestern State this Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Huntsman Center. This will mark the first-ever meeting between the Utes and Demons.
• The Runnin' Utes are 4-1 all-time against opponents from the Southland Conference, which includes a four-game winning streak over these opponents.

THE GAME
The Utah Runnin' Utes (7-3) will wrap-up non-conference play this week, hosting Northwestern State (3-6) of the Southland Conference, this Wednesday, Dec. 20. Tip-off between the Utes and Demons is set for 7 p.m. MT.

Wednesday's contest will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks with J.B. Long calling the action and Eldridge Recasner providing color commentary.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utes fell on the road, 77-65, to in-state rival BYU this past Saturday. Utah snapped a three-game winning streak against the Cougars, while BYU improved to 130-128 against the Utes in the all-time series.
Tyler Rawson led the way for the Utes, coming up just two assists shy from recording a triple-double, finishing the contest with team-highs in points (15), rebounds (10) and assists (8).
Gabe Bealer added 13 points,
David Collette scored 12 points and
Sedrick Barefield chipped in with 11 points.
Utah shot .464 (26-of-56) from the field, but were limited to just a shooting percentage of .227 (5-of-22) from beyond the three-point line. BYU shot .519 (27-of-52) from the field, which included a .500 (10-of-20) effort from three-point range.
SCOUTING NORTHWESTERN STATE
The Demons will head into Salt Lake City on Wednesday to face the Utes as part back-to-back meetings against teams from the Power Five conferences. Prior to its mid-week duel with the Utes, NSU will play at Oklahoma at 6 p.m. CT on Tuesday evening. Just a little over 24 hours later, NSU will match-up with the Utes at 7 p.m. MT.
The Demons are coming off an 85-84 road loss to LSU-Shreveport this past Saturday. Prior to the loss, NSU had won two straight with victories over Lyon College (67-56) and Louisiana College (88-58).
Following NSU's game at OU on Tuesday, its meeting with Utah will mark the sixth road game of the season. The Demons are 1-3 away from home as they head into their contest on Tuesday.
Jalan West leads all scorers with 13.3 points per game, while Ishmael Lane (11.0) and Iziahiah Sweeney (10.6) post average double-digit scoring efforts as well. Lane leads the team with 6.8 rebounds per game and 15 blocked shots. West has also tallied a team-high 28 assists and 12 steals on the season.
The Demons are scoring 68.7 points per game, while giving up 78.2 points to opposing squads. NSU shoots .408 from the field, .275 from downtown and .676 from the charity stripe.
SERIES HISTORY
Wednesday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the Runnin' Utes and NSU Demons. Utah will be playing a team from the Southland Conference for just the sixth time in program history and brings in an overall record of 4-1 against squads from the league. Utah has won four straight meetings against teams from the Southland Conference, which includes a regular-season win over Stephen F. Austin in Honolulu last season.
DISHING WITH RAWSON
Tyler Rawson ranks second on the team with 39 assists, just five assists behind team-leader
Justin Bibbins' total of 44 assists, but he ranks first on the team, fourth in the Pac-12 and 31st in the nation with a 3.00 assist/turnover ratio. Rawson has registered just 13 turnovers on the season.
Rawson, who tallied a new season/career-high eight assists against BYU this past Saturday, has registered five or more assists in four games this season. He has also led the team in assists in five different games this year.
ALMOST SEEING TRIPLE
Tyler Rawson led the Utes with 15 points and 10 rebounds against BYU this past weekend. He also led the team with eight assists, coming up just two assists shy of recording a triple-double.
Utah's last triple-double was recorded on Jan. 25, 1999, when Alex Jensen tallied 16 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against Fresno State.
UTES FROM DEEP
Utah has tallied three-point shooting percentages of .400 or better in two of its last three games and three games overall on the season. As a team, the Utes have combined to sink 10 three-pointers or more in four games this season, which included a season-high 13 treys against Mississippi Valley State back on Nov. 13.
UP NEXT
Utah will open up Pac-12 Conference play following the Christmas holiday, taking on Oregon in Eugene on Friday, Dec. 28, and then taking Oregon State in Corvallis on Sunday, Dec. 31. The Utes will return home the following week to host both Arizona schools.
