ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Junior forward
Kyle Kuzma has been named to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) District VIII Team, the USBWA announced on Tuesday.

For each of the nine geographic districts, ten players are selected (11 in the case of ties) as well as a player and coach of the year. USBWA District VII consists of schools from the states of Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.

Kuzma, who was tabbed an All-Pac-12 First Team selection along with being named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team, led the Utes in points (16.0) and rebounds (9.6) this season. He recorded 15 double-doubles on the year and posted double-digit scoring efforts in 24 of 27 games he played in. He joins Colorado's Derrick White as the only players from the Pac-12 to be named to the team from District VII.
Kuzma and the Utes earned the No. 4 seed in this week's Pac-12 Tournament and will play the winner of California/Oregon State on Thursday, March 9. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:41 PST at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
