Â
The squad will be one of 64 teams in a field that is vying for a winner-takes-all grand prize of $2 million. The Basketball Tournament, or TBT, is an open-application, single-elimination, winner-take-all basketball tournament that runs from July 8 through August 3. Anyone can enter, but you have to have the most online votes to earn a spot as one of TBT's 64 teams.Â
Â
The tournament begins with a play-in jamboree June 17-18 in Philadelphia, Pa., and will then move to regional competitions (July 8-9, Philadelphia and Charlotte, N.C. and July 15-16, Las Vegas, Nev., and Peoria, Ill.). Teams have to make it out of their region to make it to the Super 16 round from July 20-23 (New York, N.Y.) and to the Championship round from Aug. 1-3 (Baltimore, Md.).Â
Â
The teams that make it to the Super 16 and Championship rounds will have their games aired on ESPN and will be in the running for the grand prize of $2 million.
